Maintenance Tips
Replace the batteries in all smoke
detectors.
Have your fireplace and chimney inspected and cleaned.
Replace furnace filter.
Clean and vacuum heating ducts and registers.
Inspect weather stripping and caulking
for leaks. If you discover drafty windows or doors, apply new
weather stripping.
Cut back trees and shrubs that are touching or hanging over your
roof.
Bring outdoor plants inside your home.
Remove all debris from gutters.
Check all fire extinguishers to make sure they are not expired and
are in good working order.
If you have an attic, close all vents to conserve heat.
Inspect your roof for loose or missing
shingles.
