Our Services - Carbon Monoxide Testing
Have You Recently Had Your Calgary Furnace Checked For Cabron Monoxide Leakage?
Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas that, when inhaled, can cause sudden serious injury and even death. The gas is an incomplete by-product of carbon combustion, meaning that it is produced from fuel-burning appliances such as heaters and furnaces, vehicle exhaust systems, gas ranges and gas-powered appliances, and other sources. Improper use or malfunction of this equipment can cause carbon monoxide to collect in enclosed or poorly-ventilated spaces. If exposed, a person may experience dizziness, headache, confusion, nausea, vomiting, and chest pain. High levels of exposure can cause a person to lose consciousness and can even cause death.

You can protect yourself from carbon monoxide exposure by purchasing a carbon monoxide detector. Much like a smoke detector, this detector will sound an alarm in the event of high levels of the poisonous gas.
If you decide to invest in a detector, you should check its battery and condition at regular, twice-yearly intervals. In addition, you can reduce your exposure risk by following general safety advice:
- The most important way to combat exposure is to detect any appliance malfunction or leak before it becomes a problem. Have all carbon monoxide-producing equipment inspected regularly by a Clearview Plumbing & Heating professional.
- Never use portable flameless chemical heaters, charcoal grills, or camping stoves indoors or in poorly ventilated areas.
- Always open your garage before turning on your engine, and always turn off your engine before closing your garage door.
